CASE STUDY

KRM Druk — digital print embellishment shown in practice

For KRM Druk, we produced a film from printing workshops dedicated to digital print embellishment and finishing. The client event combined printing expertise with practical demonstrations of technologies, materials and effects that can be used in advertising and publishing projects.

The challenge

Print technologies are best understood not simply by describing them, but by seeing them in operation and examining the finished effect on a real material.

The workshop film therefore needed to combine two elements: show the event and its participants, while clearly presenting its technological dimension — samples, print details, machinery and the process of creating finishing effects.

Our approach

We combined footage of participants and workshop leaders with close-ups of materials and successive stages of the technologies being demonstrated.

Close-up shots make it possible to see what matters most in this type of production: texture, gloss, structure and differences between effects that in printing are often best appreciated on the finished product.

From technology to the finished effect

KRM Druk workshops presented the possibilities of digital print embellishment in a practical context — not as an abstract technological process, but as a tool that a designer or client can use in a specific project.

This format makes it possible to combine technical knowledge with real samples and understand how decisions made at the design stage influence the final printed result.

Workshops as part of the client relationship

KRM Druk develops a model of cooperation in which the printing house is not merely a contractor, but also a source of knowledge about materials, technologies and production possibilities.

This approach continues through KRM Creative, where designers can access training, workshops, file-preparation guidelines and resources that help them make better use of modern printing technologies.

Scope of work

  • event film and reportage
  • recording the workshop programme
  • filming workshop leaders and participants
  • footage of machinery and technological processes
  • close-ups of samples and finishing effects
  • capturing the atmosphere of the event
  • editing a dynamic event report
  • color grading and post-production
  • film production and post-production

KRM DRUK

Print you can examine up close

KRM Druk specialises in advanced digital printing and technologies that give printed materials additional visual and tactile effects. Its services include 2D and 3D varnishes, structural varnish, metallic foils, special colours and other forms of digital print embellishment.

Workshops turn these possibilities into practical knowledge: participants can examine samples, compare different solutions and better understand how design decisions affect the final printed result.
