CASE STUDY

Enactus — where student ideas meet business

Enactus brings together students, academia and business representatives around projects that use entrepreneurship to address social, economic and environmental challenges. The task of the film was to show, in a short promotional format, the energy of the programme and the idea of bringing young leaders together with the experienced world of business.

The challenge

Enactus is not simply a student competition. The programme includes the work of university teams, the implementation of specific projects, cooperation with business, mentoring and national and international competitions.

The promotional film therefore had to communicate much more than information about the event itself. It needed to portray an environment in which entrepreneurship, social engagement and the development of young people meet the experience of business leaders.

Our approach

The starting point was to present Enactus primarily through people: the students, their activity, ambition and the opportunity to test their ideas against real business practice.

Rather than building the communication around the institution itself, the film was intended to emphasise the relationship between the programme's young participants and the community of entrepreneurs and managers who can support them with knowledge, experience and mentoring.

CONTEXT

Enactus Poland National Competition

Students present results

The Enactus national competition summarises the work of student teams. Participants present to the jury the results of projects they have actually implemented.

What is assessed is therefore not only the ideas themselves, but also their results, the way business tools were applied and the impact achieved by each project.

Business on the other side of the stage

The competition jury includes CEOs, board members, managers and business experts. Students therefore present their projects to people who make decisions in the real world of business every day.

This relationship — between young people developing projects and experienced leaders — is one of the most important elements of the Enactus identity.

2013

The film was created during a period of intensive growth for the programme in Poland

Seven teams in the national competition

At the 2013 Enactus Poland National Competition in Warsaw, seven qualified teams representing Polish universities presented their projects.

The students showcased initiatives that combined business mechanisms with solutions to specific social and environmental problems.

More than 50 business jurors

The project results were assessed by more than 50 business representatives — including CEOs, board members and managers representing many well-known companies and organisations.

The winning team earned the right to represent Poland at the international Enactus World Cup, giving the national competition a much broader context.

Scope of work

PRODUCTION

A project bringing together the client, agency and film production

Collaboration between several teams

The film was created within a production model involving several cooperating parties: the client Bigram, the agency Saatchi & Saatchi, Film Delikatesy and soul seed media as executive producer.

In this type of workflow, the key is to combine the client's expectations, the communication concept and efficient film production into one coherent piece.

Film as a communication tool for the programme

The promotional film was intended to communicate the Enactus idea in a simple way: student projects do not end with theory or a university presentation.

Their purpose is to act, achieve measurable results and connect with people who can help turn an idea into real change.
