Social campaigns — there’s a problem, there’s a solution

A social campaign is usually organized to draw attention to a specific problem affecting an individual or group, to change how that problem is perceived, and to prompt actions that solve it or reduce its impact. Here is a spot we produced — an example social campaign for the Two Lines Association (Dwie Kreski) that can genuinely improve the quality of life of women facing an unplanned pregnancy:

The Two Lines Association helps women with basic needs — psychological and legal consultations, and material and social support — thanks to field work by volunteers. The ultimate beneficiaries are children who can be born and raised in safe conditions — the Association also helps after childbirth. For people under the Association’s care, the COVID period of 2019–2021 was particularly important and difficult.

Who runs social campaigns?

They are most often created by organizations in public administration — e.g., Ministries, Local Governments — as well as NGOs in Poland, such as Associations, Foundations, and Social Committees. In fact, anyone can initiate a social campaign — even individuals can rally crowds when acting effectively for a just cause. Here’s another example of our work — the “Christmas Eve Without Borders” social campaign/action by the Schuman Thought Institute Foundation — encouraging Poles to invite foreigners working and studying in Poland to Christmas Eve dinner:

The spot aired on national and local TV channels and in public transport in Warsaw and other major Polish cities. In response, many Polish families invited foreigners to Christmas Eve in their homes, getting to know another culture and forming new relationships — we can therefore say the goal was achieved.
