CASE STUDY
You Are Beautiful — a cinematic interpretation of the original project by Aleksandra Jaromin / Freedom Is Near
“You Are Beautiful” was created as an original audiovisual project by Aleksandra Jaromin, who developed its vision, lyrics and music. Our task was to translate this idea into a narrative film form that would preserve the emotional and symbolic character of the song while also working as a standalone music video.
The challenge
The project explores the experience of hurt, rejection and rebuilding one’s sense of self-worth. It therefore required a form that would not illustrate the song lyrics literally, but instead create its own clear dramatic structure.
It was also important to maintain the right tone: to tell a story about a difficult experience without resorting to excessive literalism, while leaving the viewer room for their own interpretation.
Our approach
The script was developed together with Aleksandra Jaromin. We translated her original project vision into a cinematic story built around characters, visuals, acting and symbolic situations.
The direction and editing were shaped around the emotional dramaturgy of the song. Instead of creating a conventional performance-based music video, we built a short narrative story that expands the meaning of the song through the language of film.
