Professional aerial filming – sample shots

Drone shots may include a bird’s-eye view of an object in its surroundings; a fly-in toward the object, usually used at the beginning of a film; or a fly-away from the object as a closing shot.

Rotation or orbiting around the object helps show it from all sides. It’s one of the most attractive shots, provided the drone moves smoothly and steadily.

A top-down view (camera pointing straight down) delivers a topographic, highly aesthetic, and striking shot reminiscent of satellite imagery.

Drones can also perform more complex shots along a pre-programmed path.

Safe drone flights come from qualifications and experience!

Hiring a drone with an operator spares you unnecessary formalities related to liability and knowledge of aviation law.

We hold all required authorizations: drone operator qualification in categories A1 and A3, and an operator registration certificate.

Flight preparation:

We always check the area where the drone will fly for feasibility and restrictions (for example, Warsaw has many no-fly zones).

We set the maximum permitted altitude, file the drone flight with the airspace controller, and track it in a dedicated app, allowing us to react in real time to any changes and controller recommendations.

High-quality drone filming

Our DJI Mini 4 Pro drone is registered in class C0, which carries the fewest restrictions, but even without a large drone you must be aware of risks and minimize them.

Thanks to a very low takeoff weight under 250 g it is very agile, fast, and intuitive to operate.

It records in 4K (3840×2160) and up to 100 frames per second, enabling slow-motion shots.

A full set of ND filters allows us to film even in conditions of very strong sunlight while preserving color fidelity.

Drone films – technical limitations

A single drone flight can last up to about 30 minutes depending on weather conditions. After that we pause filming, land the drone, change the battery, and continue!

With three batteries we extend operating time to about 90 minutes—which should be plenty even for very demanding locations.

A dedicated power bank, even without an external power source, allows charging one battery using the other two—this way we make the most of stored energy.

With access to a power outlet, we can top up the batteries and carry out several flight sessions in a single day.

Drone films – site limitations

In zones without special restrictions the maximum flight altitude is 120 m measured from the ground at the takeoff point. For example, standing on a hill 30 m a.s.l., we can climb to an altitude of up to 150 m a.s.l.

Some zones, especially in larger cities, have additional restrictions due to the proximity of airports and the presence of strategic defense facilities.

We do not fly over military ranges, wastewater treatment plants, water-intake areas, or major government buildings and their vicinity.

Drone shots cannot be performed during rain or wind above 10 m/s, but flights can be precisely scheduled in the production calendar using weather forecasts.

We do not fly over people or sensitive objects that could be damaged in the event of an accidental failure or loss of controller range.

Even a 250 g piece of plastic falling from a great height could cause unforeseeable damage or injury. In VLOS (Visual Line of Sight) flights, the drone must always remain within the pilot’s or an additional observer’s line of sight.

We pay special attention to thin hanging wires and birds of prey, which may mistake our drone for a pigeon and try to hunt it.

We try not to fly over water—obviously, fishing a drone out of a lake or pond is nearly miraculous, and even after a successful recovery it may never work again.
