CASE STUDY

Quickly 1, 2, 3 — a music video created at home during lockdown

“Quickly 1, 2, 3” was created at the very beginning of the pandemic, when restrictions made conventional film production practically impossible. We filmed it in The Fedor Family's apartment in Lublin. We had a green screen, lights, a camera and, above all, an energetic song with which the family wanted to give people hope and encouragement during lockdown.

The challenge

The production was created under conditions in which we could not use a conventional production infrastructure, large sets or multiple locations.

The entire material had to be filmed inside an apartment, while still creating a fully fledged music video that would not look like an improvised home recording made during lockdown.

Our approach

We treated the limitations as the starting point for a specific visual concept. Instead of attempting to imitate a real location, we chose to make deliberate use of green screen.

The family's performance was filmed against a uniform green background, while the actual visual world of the music video was created later through editing, keying and image post-production.

CONCEPT

The story of Noah as a story of hope

A song that gained a new meaning

The song tells the story of Noah, the Ark and the Flood — a story about danger, confinement, survival and eventually returning to normal life.

During the first weeks of the pandemic, the story naturally resonated with people staying in their homes and waiting for the moment when everyday life could begin again.

Energy instead of fear

Despite the pandemic context, we did not want the music video to be built around a sense of threat. The song is fast, cheerful and full of energy, so the visuals also needed to remain light and positive.

The most important element was the family's energy and the message that even in difficult circumstances it is possible to retain joy, hope and a sense of togetherness.

PRODUCTION

Green screen instead of locations

A film set inside an apartment

The green screen allowed us to separate the performers from the actual apartment space and treat the recorded shots as material for further visual creation.

Correct lighting, separation from the background, framing and directing the performers were essential so that the footage could later be cleanly keyed and integrated with the graphics.

A world built in post-production

After filming, the green background was removed and replaced with the prepared visual design. This meant that the physically limited space no longer restricted the appearance of the film.

Editing, compositing, graphics and the rhythm of successive shots were built around the music, allowing the family's performance to function within a coherent, created visual world.

Scope of work

TWO VERSIONS

From Lublin to audiences beyond Poland

Polish version

The first music video was created for the Polish version of “Szybko 1, 2, 3”. It launched the project and visually developed an idea that had previously existed as a song performed by the family.

English version

The Fedor Family wanted the positive message of the song to reach audiences beyond Poland. We therefore also created an English-language version of the project for an international audience.
